Get Beautiful Feet for the Holidays With a Medical Pedicure
The holidays are around the corner, and like every other day of the year, you’re planning on hiding your toenails because they’ve been ravaged by toenail fungus.
Toenail fungus is incredibly common and affects up to 12% of Americans. It’s also an incredibly stubborn condition that can plague your nails for years, and every time you get rid of it, the fungus rears its ugly head again.
If you’re tired of hiding unsightly fungal nails and you’d like to put your feet on display this holiday season, we can get you there through our aesthetic podiatry services.
As our name — Aesthetic Podiatry & Sports Medicine Center — suggests, both Dr. Mariola Rivera and Dr. Lisa Shah understand the importance of feet that function well and look good doing it.
So if you don’t want to keep your feet under wraps this holiday season, explore how we can make them shine with a medical pedicure.
The problem with toenail fungus
As you likely already know, toenail fungus can be challenging. For many people, the fungal infection hangs on and becomes part of the cellular matrix, returning no matter what they try.
The good news is that we do offer excellent treatment options for fungal nails, including our cutting-edge Pinpointe® laser system. The bad news is that, while effective, it still takes time for the fungal nail to grow out. To give you an idea, it can take up to 18 months for a toenail to fully grow back.
In the meantime, your toenails may not be ready for prime time, which is where our medical pedicure comes in.
Making your toenails beautiful again
At the heart of our medical pedicure is the professional KeryFlex® nail restoration system, which can give you toenails you’ll be proud to show off.
With KeryFlex, we create a new surface for your toenail using a strong resin material. Once we apply the resin, we use a specialized light to harden the resin and get it to bind to your toenail.
Then we sculpt the new toenail to make it look as natural as possible and seal it with a top coat.
So in the end, you get a toenail that covers your unsightly fungal nails with a new surface that looks unaffected by disease. And this new nail is nonporous and nonpermeable, so it fully covers and protects your fungal nail while it grows out.
This also means that you can put whatever you want on the new surface of the KeryFlex nail, such as your favorite holiday nail polish.
So if you want toenails you can display with confidence this holiday season, we welcome you to schedule a medical pedicure at your convenience. To get that ball rolling, please contact us online or by phone at one of our offices in Purchase or White Plains, New York.
